Free Figure Revolution presents "Visioning Liberation for Black Bodies: On Black Fugitivity, Body Terrorism, and Survival" as a community discussion for Black people within the Atlanta area to discuss body liberation through the context of moving through constant antiblack violence. We will be discussing our own personal bodliy traumas (i.e. navigating body image, healthism, ugliness, desire, etc.), popular culture and media in relation to trauma, and what it means to envision a future that's intentionally deprived from Black people.
This space will be a Black only space framed through a Black fat queer futurism lens. There will be light snacks and drinks provided. The event will be in the Event Room of the Phillip Rush Center.
The space is ADA accessible and size-friendly. Parking is free and available in front of the Cafe and around the back of the Phillip Rush Center.
